The Red Door Place

Economic freedom and freedom from hunger go hand in hand.

At The Red Door Place food pantry and Community Meal located at The Church of the Village at 201 West 13th Street we strive to empower our guests to escape the crushing cycle of poverty.

Our mission is to provide hunger relief and serve as a bridge to the resources needed to achieve economic security. Thousands of New Yorkers come to our food pantry, community meal, and wrap-around referral programs each month. Greeted with fresh food and a warm welcome by staff and volunteers, our guests know they can count on The Red Door Place during challenging times. Scroll down to see our services.

    Food Pantry

    Tuesdays 2-4:30pm

    The pantry distribution of groceries is by reservation only. You will need to download the Plentiful App to a mobile phone to make reservations. To get the application, click here.

    Ready to Eat

    Tuesdays 2-4:30pm

    No reservations are needed to pick up a bag with one complete meal of ready to eat food and a beverage.

    Bridging the Gap

    Tuesdays 1-4:30pm

    We offer assistance with applications to SNAP, Cash Assistance, Medicaid, Fair Fares, Reduced Phones, & other government programs. We can refer you to legal resources. Click here to learn more.

    Community Meal
