Teresa Concepción

September 25, 1962 - December 13, 2024

Teresa Concepción (neé Rivera) was born September 25, 1962 and passed away December 13, 2024.She was a natural advocate in the community for causes with the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, the United Federation of Teachers, and most recently as the Executive Director of The Red Door Place, Inc. (formerly known as Hope for Our Neighbors in Need.)

The Red Door Place and Community Meal, Inc. provides resources to the unhoused and the food insecure community in the West Village and greater New York City area that includes meals, pantry supplementation, and support with government benefits, legal, and other services through the “Bridging the Gap” program.

Teresa was a mother to her three daughters and grandmother to her four grandchildren and eight fur-grandchildren.Her generosity and heart were like no other and this loss has a profound impact on her family and the community she served.

She is survived by her daughters Teresa (Tess), Valentina (Nina), and Amy; Son-In-Laws Christian and Victor; grandchildren Khloe, Sebastian, Penelope, and Violet; as well as several other relatives.
